Walk for a Healthy Community


The Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community is an annual fundraising walk that benefits local health and human service agencies.

The primary goal of the walk is to help participating organizations raise money for their individual missions. One hundred percent of the funds raised through this event go directly back to the participating organizations.

Attention Participants and Donors of the Highmark Walk

Out of an abundance of caution and for the protection and safety of our Walk participants and volunteers, the 2021 Highmark Walks for a Healthy Community will be an online only fundraiser and virtual walk again this year.

This modification ensures that our participating organizations will still be able to fundraise, via our online platform, while not putting participants at risk of further spread of the COVID-19 virus in a mass gathering situation. This change is also in accordance with the CDC's recommendation of social distancing and avoiding mass gatherings.

Details regarding fundraising incentives and T-shirt distribution are provided below:

  • T-shirts will be distributed directly to each organization's leader in late-July/early August.
    • To qualify for a t-shirt you must meet the following requirements:
      • A registered walker AND
      • Have a minimum of $30 credited to your walker account by July 15
    • T-shirts will be distributed by the organizations to their walkers.
  • Raffle chances will be awarded to each registered walker who raised $50 or more. All donations credited to the individual's walker account by the walk organization by July 15 were taken into consideration. Walkers received one raffle chance for every $50 raised.
  • Prize winners will be announced on the Highmark Walk Facebook Page the week of July 19. Prizes will be distributed by mail in late July to the respective winners.
