MAKE A DIFFERENCE ONE STEP AT A TIME
The Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community is an annual fundraising walk and is part of the Highmark Bright Blue Futures charitable giving and community involvement program that focuses on improving equitable access to care, quality of life, and economic resilience in the communities we serve.
The primary goal of the walk is to help participating organizations raise money for their individual missions. One hundred percent of the funds raised through this event go directly back to the participating organizations, as Highmark underwrites all the associated costs of the event.
In 2024, we hosted on-site walks in the following markets: Erie, Harrisburg, Laurel Highlands (Altoona/Johnstown), Lehigh Valley (Allentown/Easton), Pittsburgh, and Wilmington, Delaware.
Through 2024, the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community events have raised more than $19.2 million for more than 560 health and human service nonprofit organizations.
Applications for nonprofits to apply to participate in the 2025 walk(s) will open in October 2024. Please check back here for additional details and to apply.
